Kwame Obeng-Sika, Ag.CEO & Head of Africa Markets

Kwame serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Africa Markets for the firm and brings a wealth of experience in business strategy, financial markets trading, fund management and investment advisory. Prior to his executive role at IBS Global Markets, Kwame served as director and President of Capital Markets at OA Markets , where he led the company in setting up the capital markets desk and developed trading models to support its brokerage services on a global scale. Before joining OA, Kwame served as the fund manager for IC Asset Managers where he was responsible for managing and investing client funds in excess of $300 mn and was instrumental in the rapid growth of its institutional client base.

Kwame has taken up roles in the Insurance Industry as well, he worked with SIC Insurance Company’s corporate planning and research division where he was instrumental in evaluating strategic plans for the company to propel its growth in the industry together with investment researches. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science and Statistics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and technology. He is approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission as a licensed financial advisor.

Samuel Yaw Boakye, Chief Financial Officer (C.F.O)

Samuel is a professional with over fifteen years’ experience in Finance Advisory, Wealth Management Services, Project and Program Management, Client Management and Business Development in the Emerging Markets and the USA. He has demonstrated the ability to successfully lead infrastructure project financing and corporate strategy functions; and has an outstanding business problem-solving aptitude and track record of creating and delivering flexible and robust solutions to achieve measurable business transformations.

Pior to joining IBS, Samuel took up several leadership roles in the finance and trade industry. He served as the Chief Executive Officer for Trade to Trade Africa where he Proactively managed all projects to meet the needs of, and exceed the expectations of business partners and clients. He also served as the Financial Advisor for Teachers Insurance Annuity Association (U.SA) where he Conducted comprehensive industry analysis for firms clients, leading to the implementation of growth strategies to enable the TIAA Wealth Management Group to be more competitive. Samuel Holds a BSBA in Finance and Strategic Management from Belk School of Business, University of North Carolina.

Kwabena Asafu-Adjei, Chief Operations Officer (C.O.O)

Kwabena serves as director and Chief Operations Officer for the firm and brings a wealth of experience in Finance, fund management , Privat Equity and investment advisory. Prior to joining IBS Global Markets, Kwabena served as senior associate at PCM Capital Advisors where he was responsible for Investor relations liaison for the Fund Manager and the Fund’s LPs as well as the Fund’s Administrator on all Fund matters (Fund valuation, quarterly reporting, etc) pertaining to investee companies. He is also the director on the Board of Leasafric Ghana Limited, driving the Fund’s value creation program especially at Leasafric’s finance and human resource departments. He holds a BA in Business Management and Economics from Washington College and an MA in Financial Economics for the American University, USA.

Jelome Arku, Associate, Finance and Administration

Jelome serves as an associate with the finance and administration department of the firm and brings on board a wide range of accounting expertise in areas such as Financial Reporting, Financial Analysis, Tax Compliance, Cash Forecasts and Budgeting.

His strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy makes him a valuable member of the team. He is responsible for preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and providing insightful reports to management.

Prior to his role at IBS Global Markets, he was an Audit Associate at John Nipah and Associates where he played a key role in the audit of several Companies across various industries ranging from Financial Services to Manufacturing Companies.

Jelome has also held accounting roles in other organizations such as GHACEM, Toyota Ghana Limited and Japan Motors Trading Company Limited where he gained diverse experience in Finance and Accounting. He holds a BSc in Accounting from the University of Professional Studies.

Rosemary Agyeiwaa Owusu, Analyst, Finance and Administration

Rosemary serves as an analyst with the Finance and Administration department of the firm. She is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the office. As a multitasking expert, she handles a wide range of tasks, from managing the front desk and maintaining office supplies, to organizing company events and assisting with HR responsibilities. Her strong communication skills and attention to detail make her an invaluable asset to the team.

Prior to her role at IBS Global Markets, Rosemary worked at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) where she gained professional experience in receiving and processing tax returns, assisting taxpayers with enquiries and lodging tax returns. Rosemary holds a BSc in Human Resource Management from Pentecost University.
